YOU HAVE BEEN DELIVERED FROM THE WRATH TO COME

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Most people including some believers are afraid of the wrath of God. This is a true indication that these fellows have not been grounded in the gospel of grace; they have not come alive to the love of God. If you know God’s love, the breadth, height, length and depth, you will not be afraid of the wrath to come.

There is such thing as God’s wrath. There is no doubt that one day God’s wrath is going to be revealed against all ungodliness and sinful men. Any one who does not believe in Jesus for his salvation is doomed to eternal damnation.

I love what Archbishop Benson Idahosah once said, “One day this whole world will be silent.” We have to live with eternity on our minds. If you are not born again, don’t waste any more time. Ask Jesus to come into your heart right now. If you are born again, rejoice and get others saved.

In order to escape God’s wrath, it is not a matter of living right. Rather it is about believing in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. From our opening scripture, it is clear that it is he that believes and not he who works. Big difference!

It is about believing as opposed to doing. Once you believe in Jesus, you have escaped God’s wrath. There is no need to fear about God’s wrath anymore. If you believe in Jesus, what you have is eternal life.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Does this scripture send some excitement down your spine? Notice it is in the past tense: ....which delivered us from the wrath to come. Hallelujah! We have been delivered from the wrath to come by Jesus. Believers in Christ who are afraid of God’s wrath have not been made perfect in love. It is not that they have not been delivered. Their problem is wrong believing. Let us close with this scripture:

1 John 4:17‭-‬18 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
