Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Your mind is vital for a life of success and prosperity. God did not create you for the down life or shame and reproach. You were made for His glory; you are on earth to display the wonderful deeds of Almighty God. But in order to see God’s dream concerning you come to pass, the place of your mind in this success journey cannot be overemphasised . You need your mind greatly to succeed in life.
One blessed thing about life is that God gave you a will to choose what you want in life; you are not a robot; you were made in God’s own image and likeness. And since you have the power to choose, you can actually decide on what to think on. This is very vital. You can actually tame your mind.
Unfortunately, a lot of folks have let their minds loose to think on just anything. Someone may be wondering; can I control my mind? Emphatically yes! Look at the last part of our opening scripture: and if there be any praise, think on these things. He counsels you on what to think on; He gives you the responsibility to do selective thinking.
You have to take absolute responsibility of what your mind think on. This is something that no one can do for you but you. One key to help you think on the right things in life is to watch what you are allow into your mind. If you feed your mind with the garbage of the world, then be sure your mind will be filled with dirt; and since that’s the thought available in your mind’s bank, that’s all you will have to think on. I admonish you to read and watch the right materials that speaks of Jesus and inspires faith and love.
If you watch the wrong stuff, your life will go in the wrong direction. Your mind is like a computer; the information that you feed into it is what it will process for you. Like the popular saying goes: “garbage in, garbage out”. Make up your mind today to think on the word of God. Stay your mind on the loveliness of Jesus and all that He came to do for you on the cross. And as you do that, your life will be filled with peace and prosperity.
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
