Anyone who follows the leading of the Spirit will never fail in life. He will always triumph irrespective of what may be happening in this world. The Spirit is life; and His leading will always produce life.
Andrew Wommack told a story years ago about how he was saved just by following the leading of the Spirit. He had been scheduled to preach in a certain country. All arrangements have been made; the meeting has been advertised and the people were in great anticipation of the meeting with the man of God.
Few weeks before the time for the meeting, he became restless and uncomfortable about the meeting. The more he prayed the more he became restless. One time while driving his truck for several hours on a long journey, he decided to pray in tongues to get the Spirit’s mind concerning the situation. The more he prayed in tongues, the more it became clearer to him that he should not attend the meeting already scheduled.
Finally, he phoned the host of the programme that he cannot make it. The people were not really happy with his decision. It happened that the flight he was supposed to be on board got crashed and everyone on board died. If he hadn’t followed the promptings of the Spirit, he would have been dead and would not have been able to do the things that God is using him to do today. Then religious folks would have said, you know, God wanted him in heaven and he has to go this way.
Following the leading of the Spirit saved his life. The Holy Ghost is here to guide us into all truth. He is here to be our tour guide through the journeys of life. If you will listen and follow His leading, you will be saved from so many aches of life. Those who ignore the leading of the Spirit get crushed in life.
Sometimes folks know that what they are doing the Holy Spirit is telling them not to do it; yet they will harden their heart and still do it. Some have gone against the Spirit and married certain individuals, and it has been hell on earth for them. Others have gone against the Spirit and have ventured into some business and it has been losses all the way.
Take time to listen to that still small voice on your inside. Listen to the inward witness of the Spirit. Do well to obey whatever the Holy Ghost tells you to do, even though it may not make sense.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
