1 Corinthians 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
Many believers in Christ still lack the revelation of the Lord’s supper which is popularly known as “The Holy Communion”. Thus we do not treat it as we ought to, with godly reverence. The Lord’s supper is power to the church. If we will take full advantage of it, there will be no sickness, weakness and death in the church.
One remarkable thing about the Lord’s supper is that, when we partake it in faith and not religiously, it reminds satan of his defeat by Jesus; it enforces his defeat; it enforces the defeat of sickness, death, and all the oppressions of this life. Now the question is, how many times do you want to remind satan of his defeat or enforce his defeat? I believe you would want to do that all the time. This is one reason why you have to partake of the Lord’s supper consistently and regularly.
Our opening scripture says, as often as you eat this bread and drink of this cup you proclaim the Lord’s death. Now here the Holy Ghost is not telling us to go and preach after we eat the Lord’s supper.
What He is saying is that, anytime you partake of the Lord’s supper, you are in essence proclaiming the death of Jesus; it is “voiceless preaching”; it is preaching without preaching. You are actually telling all the powers of darkness that they have been defeated; and that they have no power over you.
Personally, I really want to frustrate the devil and his cohorts and subdue them completely. Nearly everyday I partake of the Lord’s table. That’s why I don’t get sick; I don’t pay hospital bills, both for myself and family. The Lord has kept us strong and well because I am constantly proclaiming the Lord’s death till He comes in my house. What I am doing is telling all the powers of darkness that there is already been a death in this house hence you cannot come here; go to some place else.
Are you constantly telling the devil and his cohorts that they cannot come to your house through the Lord’s supper? The blood of Jesus speaks of His death. So when you partake it, you are actually saying there is already a death here; and if there is already in the house (Christ’s death), the death angel has to pass over. Till He comes, don’t stop proclaiming His death through the Lord’s supper thus enforcing satan’s defeat.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
