NOTES AND COMMENTARIES ARE NOT THE SAME AS THE SCRIPTURES
NOTES AND COMMENTARIES ARE NOT THE SAME AS THE SCRIPTURES

Pastor Victor
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
The word of God is truth. There is no other truth apart from God’s word. The Bible is a collection of truths from the breath of God. Any teaching that’s not consistent with scripture is not truth. Jesus said, Thy word is truth.
Some folks in the body of Christ think that commentaries and notes in a Bible are equal to scriptures. No. They are not. Notes and commentaries are man’s understanding of the Bible which could be accurate or inaccurate. God’s authority is the scriptures and not the commentaries of men.
For someone to say that because my Pastor said so and so concerning the interpretation of a scripture does not necessarily mean he is right. No man of God is God. Any preaching of men must be subjected to the judgment of scriptures. Thank God for books and tapes of anointed men of God that has transformed lives all over the world.
But the truth is that, their word is not the final authority; it is only God’s word. If what they preach is consistent with scriptures, then God has spoken to you. On the other hand, if what they preach has no scriptural basis, discard it. The truth is that many Pastors have used their teaching to cause a lot of havoc in the body of Christ. Examples include those who preach that God uses sickness to discipline His beloved children. This erroneous teaching has kept many in bondages.
Scripture says when one prophesy, others should judge. All our teaching must be subjected to the judgment of scriptures including. Any man of God who does not want his teaching to be judged by the scriptures in the spirit of love and learning, something is wrong with his philosophy.
If you take your time to study the word diligently, you will be able to rightly divide the word of truth. And your teachings will be consistent with the word; and it will bring men out of bondage and deliver them into their inheritance in Christ Jesus.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
