REDEEM THE TIME

Ephesians 5:15-17 So then, be very careful how you live. Don’t live like foolish people but like wise people. Make the most of your opportunities because these are evil days. So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord wants. GW
From our opening scripture redeeming the time means being wise. Redeeming the time has to do with taking advantage of every opportunity, making the best use of time, making good use of every opportunity you have. It has to do with buying back the time. Thus, if you don’t use your time wisely, then you are not wise.
Sometimes it is just too late to do certain things. A man who is 60 years old and says he is training to sprint in the next Olympics is definitely not a serious man; probably something is wrong with his head. He hasn’t thought of time as a factor; he has not redeemed the time.
Put in your best efforts into life now. There is no time to waste. This is the day of repentance (change of mind to make the best use of time). Don’t waste your youth on riotous living. This is not the time to engage in a life of debauchery.
A lot of youthful people are investing their energies into drugs, gangsterism, armed robbery and the likes. By the time these folks turn 50 heading into 60, they will realise that they have wasted their youth. Your youthful days are your best days in life. If you waste it, you are doomed; you have no future.
There are those who may not necessarily be doing any bad thing, but they are also not doing any thing useful with their lives. Social media and telenovelas have become their companions, sucking away all their precious time.
Your youthful days are your best days. It is the time to lay a solid foundation for the remaining part of your life. If you waste it, you are in trouble. This all important prayer of Moses the man of God has to be your prayer:
Psalms 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
