Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
Apostle Paul was in chains, but more happier and fulfilled than many living today with freedom and millions of dollars. Our joy doesn’t come from things. If we want true joy, we must take our eyes of this world and its pleasures and things, and focus it on Christ who is our true and eternal joy.
Our joy comes from serving the Lord in love and serving others with the power and love of Jesus. Seek to serve the Lord with your life. Find something worthwhile to do in the house of God. Get involved in soul winning; get involved in intercession for the nations; get involved in giving to the spread of the gospel of Christ; get involved in things that promote growth of the body of Christ.
Our joy also comes from doing what God has called us to do, and doing it the way He wants us to do it. If you desire true joy, you have to discover, pursue and fulfil what God has called you to do. Until a man finds his God given purpose and fulfils it, true and lasting joy eludes him.
Joy is a fruit of the recreated human spirit (Galatians 5:22). And it does not depend on external things; it only comes from within. And this joy is the strength of the believer in Christ (Nehemiah 8:10. Happiness never last; it comes from things. But joy is eternal and comes from the Lord Jesus. You can be penniless and still be joyful; that’s the difference.
Your joy is not in your husband, children, cars, houses, lands and properties. You cannot expect joy from any of these sources; that’s dangerous. There are people with these things and are contemplating on suicide, more frustrated than even one living in the village with nothing. Christ is your true joy; look up to Him alone.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
