THE CROSS IN OUR RELATIONSHIPS

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
The cross of Christ must be applied in our daily walk. The cross is not an abstract subject with no significance in our daily lives. The cross of Jesus did not only deal with our sins, but more importantly, it’s lessons can be applied in every area of our lives. Without the cross in our relationships and daily lives, everything will fall apart. The cross is the glue that holds everything together in our lives.
The way Israel camped in the wilderness was in the form of a cross. This speaks of the cross in our daily walk. Our daily walk must be influenced by the cross if we desire to live victorious life in this world.
When man sinned against God, God did not attack the sinner but attacked the “sin”. If He had attacker the sinner, we would have been destroyed by now. What God did is a template for glorious living on earth.
In our relationship with people, we must remember the principle: save the sinner and deal with the sin. You don’t attack the person but the sin or the wrong. Your goal in correction should be to help the person and not to attack the character of the person.
If your bid to correct the person ends up in the attacking of the personality of the individual, then there is a problem. In that instance you are leaving the sin and dealing with the sinner, and that will not help in any way. It will rather create chaos.
If a wife sins against her husband and her husband decides not to talk to the wife anymore and harbour grudges against her, and attacked her personality, it will only cause disaster. What the husband ought to do is to deal with the wrong and save the wife. This implies that you have to maintain the relationship, loving your wife unconditionally, while you deal with the problem.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
