STUDY THE BIBLE IN THE GREEK AND HEBREW LANGUAGES

2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Years ago, Pastor Chris taught on “Three Kinds of Knowledge”. Then he taught again on “Three Kinds of Wisdom". These are amazing classic teachings of God’s word that you will do well to get them and imbibe the content. It will make an immaculate difference in your life.
Why did he teach on all these kinds of knowledge and wisdom? It is simple: the word “wisdom” for instance comes from different Greek words with different meanings and connotations. The word “knowledge” is also from different Greek words with different meanings.
One of the Greek words translated knowledge is “eido”. In 1 Corinthians 2:12 where it talks about we might “know” the things that are freely given to us, the word “know” is from Greek “eido” which has to do with being made aware of the truth by revelation.
In other places, the word knowledge is translated from “ginosko” which means knowledge by experience through revelation. In the Greek Septuagint, it is the word used in Genesis 4 when it says, Adam “knew” his wife. This is intimate knowledge. This is the kind of knowledge that brings you into intimacy with what you know. This kind of knowledge is what changes a man’s life and frees him.
I said all these to say that, the English translation of the Bible is inadequate in explaining what the scriptures really says due to the weakness of the English language. The Bible was originally written in Greek (New Testament) and Hebrew (Old Testament). Thus if you don’t study the Bible using the original language, there are a lot of vital things that you will miss which will in turn limit your understanding of the scriptures and hence your full appreciation of God’s word.
And it is not much of a lot difficulty in studying the Bible in the Greek and Hebrew renderings. You don’t have to be a Greek or Hebrew scholar to do that. A good interlinear Bible is all you need, coupled with a desire to learn. And as you open your heart to the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and study God’s word, you will receive amazing revelations of God’s word that will deepen your understanding of the word of God.
