TWO REASONS WHY PEOPLE REJECT SALVATION

2 Corinthians 4:3‭-‬4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

When I think of people rejecting salvation it amazes me. Why would you reject something that will bless you and change your life? Salvation is the greatest gift that God ever gave to man.

Apart from satan blinding the hearts of the unsaved, the church too have not made it easy for the world to receive the gospel by the things that we preach. When you tell people that except they straighten out their lives they cannot make it to heaven, you are putting a stumbling block on their way. So, instead of helping people to get into the kingdom, you rather become a hindrance to them by your preaching thus helping satan big time.

When you tell a sinner that he has to stop all his sins before he will be accepted by God, it will greatly hinder him to receive Christ. Most sinners see Christianity as a religion of a bunch of laws to be obeyed. What they see is stopping their evil ways. And it makes it hard for them to receive the gospel because they cannot stop these sins by themselves.

But when you tell a sinner that God is not asking him to stop any sin but he should just accept the free gift of salvation, it makes it much easier for the sinner to accept Christ. Salvation is simply accepting by faith God’s free gift of righteousness given to men on account of Christ.

Yet, most people reject this free gift of salvation. This tells me that the darkness that covers the heart of the sinner is really great and thick. Thus we need to pray that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ will shine on them. Get involved in praying and winning the lost for God’s kingdom.

If you haven’t received Christ and you are reading this epistle, do well to accept Christ now. God isn’t asking you to stop your sins. He said, just believe in His son and you will be saved. I don’t think that’s too hard to do. Just ask Jesus to come into your heart and be your Lord and you will be gloriously saved. If you reject God’s gift of salvation, there is no more sacrifice of sins for you but a fearful judgment awaiting you. Accept Christ today!
