Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Contrary to popular opinion, grace is not a license to sin. Rather grace is what makes you reign in life by Jesus Christ. Grace is the all encompassing gospel of Jesus Christ and it is the power of God unto salvation. Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Thus grace is the power to save men. How can something that has power to save men be a license to sin? Most people in the body of Christ are really confused about the message of grace; and that’s why they keep on making the assertion: be careful with this grace movement and grace preachers because they will lead you to sin and to a lose life.
Our opening scripture says, those who actively receive the abundance of grace will reign in life. It implies that grace is what will cause you to reign over the enemy and his accusations, sin, disease, and all the oppressions of life. God wants you to have abundance of grace and not just some little grace. The more you receive the grace of God, the more power you will have to reign in life.
For you to be anything in this life it is going to be by the grace of God. 1 Corinthians 15:10 says, “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”
Apostle Paul went ahead and counselled us to be strong in the grace of God (2 Timothy 2:1). Why would the Holy Ghost inspired Apostle Paul to counsel us on something that will give us license to sin? Don’t you think you are rather tempting the Spirit of God? You rather should be careful of preaching against grace and grace preachers.
Actively receive God’s abundant grace to reign in life. Never come to God based on how good you are and all the nice things that you have done. Bless God for good works! Keep on doing what is right. But never base your relationship with God on your good works. Throw yourself on the mercy and grace of God for sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace (Romans 6:14).
