ARE YOU IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Some people think it is when you get to heaven before you are in the kingdom of God. That’s a big lie from hell. This is what has fuelled this teaching about who will make it to heaven – people trying to live right in order to get into heaven. And some people boast that they will go to heaven because the have lived right – they even condemn other believers who are not living right that they are on their way to hell.
The day you got born again you were removed from the kingdom of darkness which is the kingdom of satan into the kingdom of God (Colossians 1:13). This experience happens instantly – the moment one gets born again he enters into the kingdom of God. And this happens because you put faith in Jesus and what He did for you in His finished work.
Now what most people teach is like the kingdom of God is different from heaven. These people teach that if the Christian doesn’t live right he will miss heaven. The question we need to ask is that, are we in the kingdom of God or do we get into the kingdom of God when we get to heaven? This thing has confused a lot of people in the body of Christ.
Bless God for heaven! But if all your living right is just to get to heaven, then there is something really wrong with your theology – you need a course correction. Heaven is not different from the kingdom of God. Heaven is part of the kingdom. The kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom which has its members both on earth and in heaven.
Ephesians 3:14-15 says, “For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.” According to this scripture there is a family in heaven and on earth. Those on earth are the believers in Christ who have confessed Jesus as the Lord of their lives.
According to Jesus the prerequisite to get into the kingdom is to be born again and not to live right and stay away from sin. I am not for a life of sin; but I am attacking this erroneous concept that has robbed millions of Christians the true joy of their faith in Jesus. Trying to get into somewhere that you are already only leads to frustration. Christians trying to go into heaven (the kingdom of God) that they already are is one source of frustrations to many.
When one gets born again he is brought into the kingdom of God immediately. Now in that kingdom, there is a lifestyle that is consistent with God’s word that every citizen must live. And the more you learn the word of God, the more you are able to live that life to the full; and the more dominion you are able to take. That’s all there is to it. Praise God! Grace reigns!
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
