THE SENSE OF SECURITY BRINGS REST

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

When is night and you are about to sleep, you realise that you become at rest the moment you lock your doors. That sense of security gives you peace of mind to sleep well. When you know that your locks are not secured, you feel insecure which brings unrest.

Scripture says, fear brings torment. And fear of God’s judgment and punishment means one is not secured in the love of God.

If you cannot emphatically say that you are saved; and that you will be in heaven when Christ comes, you are not secured in the love of God. It is even sadder you hear preachers who say, I am not even sure of my salvation – I am not sure I will make it to heaven; we don’t know who is going to be saved.

You who is not sure of what you have, why do you want an unbeliever to believe the gospel that you preach? You see how we are behaving ourselves before the unsaved. If you are selling a product, and you are not confident in your product, you will not make any headway.

I am confident of what I have as a believer in Christ. That’s why I am giving everything to make all men see the fellowship of this mystery. This gospel doesn’t save men halfway but to the uttermost. I am saved by grace through faith. I am irreversibly and irrevocably saved. I am confident in His love because of the cross. I have no confidence in my flesh, for in my flesh dwell no good thing. My faith is completely in Christ.

Are you secure in the love of God? Do you truly believe you are saved? Or are you saved until your next sin? You must found your salvation on Christ alone. If you are truly born again, you are eternally saved and secured in His love. What you need to do is press into God and learn more about the secrets that makes one a champion in this glorious kingdom and become more effective in the things of God.

Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
