ONE REASON WHY THE WORD MAY NOT BE WORKING FOR YOU

Psalms 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

The word of God has too much power. The word can totally transform your life. There is no doubt about that. But there is a way to make the word work for you. The word of God is not working for everyone; it works for those who know how to handle it and put it to work.

Among several reasons why the word may not be working for you, one of the main reason is “familiarity”. Many believers who even know the word have become familiar with the scriptures and the word taught by anointed men of God.

Before the pastor even get into his sermon, you will hear them say, we know these things already; we have heard it over and over again; tell us something new. What they forget is that the word never loses its power, the number of times that you hear it notwithstanding.

I believe that the more you hear a particular message or a line of doctrine, the more power is released to you. I think for this reason, satan deceives people into thinking that they need some thing new.

Israel in the wilderness became familiar with the manna that God gave them. The manna was all that they needed. They were not smarter than God who gave them that food of angels. The manna had every nutrient that they needed for their nourishment. But it came to a time that they loathe it; they were tired of it.

Are you tired of hearing the word daily? Have you lost your passion and fire for the word? I have tapes that I have listened to them for more than 20 times and still counting. The more I listen, the more I receive. Years ago, I had a preaching tape which I listened to it till I could tell you the next word the preacher was going to say; the word ate me up. Don’t take the word for granted; it has too much power. Cherish and love the word of God. Place it above everything else in your life.

Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
