ACTIVATING PROPHECIES

1 Timothy 1:18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

A lot of people start the year with all kinds of prophetic words for the year. Some even have prophetic words for each month of the year. The question is, how many of these prophetic words come to pass?

I can guarantee you that many don’t come to pass. Not because the words were not from God. This is simply because of our lackadaisical attitude toward prophecies. We are not ready to comply with scriptures to see the manifestation of that which was spoken concerning us. I believe your church has a prophetic word for the year. Have you seen that word come to pass in your life? What steps have you taken to see that prophetic word made real in your life? Have you gotten the tapes concerning the prophetic word and listened to them?

Prophecies are made to be fulfilled. The prophet Jeremiah prophesied about the desolation of Jerusalem for seventy years in Babylon. Seventy years past but Israel were still in bondage.

A man named Daniel was reading the scroll of the prophet Jeremiah and discovered that the captivity was supposed to be seventy years. Then he set his face to pray and seek the God of heaven. Even though a prophet of God has prophesied, the prophecy did not come to pass until a man bought into that prophecy and pressed into God for a release.

One truth that you must learn in the school of prophecy is that prophecies don’t fulfil themselves. Don’t go and sleep having received a prophetic word. You will have to enforce that prophecy for its manifestation. Don’t forget that there is an enemy out there who does not want to see you prosper.

If you really desire to see the promises and prophecies of God come to pass in your life, you will have to press into God for their release. You will have to do what Daniel did; get into prayer, fasting, and confession of faith of the prophetic word. Take practical steps into the fulfilment of that prophetic word.

For instance, if that prophetic word speaks of financial increase, you cannot sit at home idle and expect the money to come. You cannot even be doing the same things you have been doing previous years and expect real increase. You will have to pray differently; think differently; do things differently.

Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
