Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Concerning John the scripture says, He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light (John 5:35). Our walk of faith must go beyond just going to church on Sundays to appease our conscience and feel good. It must go beyond just being nice Christians, paying tithe, and driving some nice cars around.
I tell our church members that God did not save you just to be a nice Christian. I have seen very nice believers in Christ destroyed and frustrated in life. God wants your life to be more than just being some nice fellow who knows some Bible verses.
The real Christian is the one who has a true revelation of God and His Son Jesus, one who knows who he is, and have learned the word of God and mastered its use. He is the one who is on fire for the Lord, walking in love, power and dominion, establishing the kingdom of God in the hearts of men.
Your essence as a Christian must been seen by all men. Paul said to Timothy, you have known my manner of life (2 Timothy 3:10). Your manner of life must be inspiring and motivating. Don’t just pass through life. Leave footprints in the sands of time. Make your impact be felt wherever you are. Be the true ambassador of Christ that God has made you.
Press into God and tap into the omnipotence of God. Step out and preach the gospel, heal the sick and cast out devils. Let your life be a true reflection of the gospel. If your life does not reflect the gospel, you end up confusing the unsaved. You must shine till the unsaved are compelled to leave their darkness to come under your light.
There ought to be a huge difference between you and the unsaved. If you are sick just like the unbeliever, why should he believe your gospel? If you are broke, depressed and confused like the world, why should they believe your gospel? We must have something tangible enough to compel the world to believe what we have. Will the real Christian please stand up!
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
