BEYOND JORDAN

1 Peter 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
The word “Jordan” in the Hebrew means to “descend in judgment”. Jordan is a special place in Israel’s history. It was at Jordan that Joshua and his folks crossed it on dry grounds and entered into the promised land – the glory. It was after Elijah and Elisha had crossed Jordan that Elisha received the double portion. It was at Jordan that Jesus received the Holy Ghost and the Father’s approval.
This implies that after the Jordan experience is the glory. Jesus came down from heaven as God’s only begotten Son, sinless and without blemish. Then he descended in judgment on the cross. At the cross, Jesus was judged and condemned for our sins. All our guilt and condemnation fell on the head of Jesus. God’s fiery indignation and wrath was consumed in the body of Jesus.
Jesus died on the cross, and after 3 days, He was raised by the glory of the Father, the Holy Ghost. After the cross, the judgment, is the glory that He has brought to us. There is a glory that should follow the sufferings of Christ. This is the glory that the prophets of old longed to see but they were told it was not for them but that they are serving us.
The church of Jesus Christ are the most privileged people on earth and in all generations. We have something that Moses did not have. Abraham and the patriarchs will trade anything to get what you have.
For a man to house the presence of God was incomprehensible under the old covenant. They couldn’t even relate to it. But here we are, housing the presence of God in reality and truth. Hallelujah!
But unfortunately, many have not been awakened to the realities of the new covenant. The true and lasting glory according to scripture is the new covenant, which you are part of. Don’t take for granted what you have in Christ. Get to study diligently what you have been given in Christ and take full advantage of it. The glory has come. We are living in the glory of the Lord.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
