BE A WORD PRACTITIONER
BE A WORD PRACTITIONER

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Archbishop Benson Idahosa as a young man heard in church that believers can raise the dead. He stepped out from church in search for a dead man to raise. Finally, he got one little girl who had just died and raised her back to life. This was how he raised the first dead person in his glorious ministry that shook the world. That’s a word practitioner.
If we will practise 5% of the word of God that we hear, this world will not be able to contain us. We have a lot of information. We have a lot of word collectors, but few practitioners. Be a practitioner of the word. Be the one who take God at His word. You do the word because God says so; that man shall be blessed in his deed.
Until you put the word into practice, you will not see the power of the word. The power in the word is only released when we put it to work. Be a doer of the word. Be the one who act on what God says. If God’s word says tithe, give your tithe with joy; if the word says give your firstfruit offering, do it with joy; if the word commands you to pray, wake up and pray. Whatever the word tells you to do, do it and you shall be blessed.
In John 14 :12 Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” Now some believers are trying to dodge what Jesus said by saying, the greater works mean some other things. This is simple English; greater works means we doing more than what Jesus did.
Jesus raised the dead, casted other devils, cleansed the lepers and heal the sick. Now He is saying that those who believe in Him will do greater than these works. The apostles did exactly that. No where in scripture did it say that Jesus’ shadow healed the sick. But Peter’s shadow healed the sick – that is greater works.
Now Jesus said, that those who believe (any Christian) in Him will do these greater works. This is not exclusively for preachers. If this is what it means, then there is really great trouble in the church. How many preachers are even doing the works that Jesus did, let alone believers? God have mercy! You see how far removed we are from what the word says.
Let us stop giving excuses to cover up for our lack of fire and lackadaisical attitude toward the word, and rather go to God and press into Him for the release of power. It is time we stand on the word and believe God for what He has said.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
