THE MULTIPLYING EFFECT OF THE SPIRIT

Isaiah 32:15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
According to this scripture, if your life is like a desert it will become like a fruitful field when the Spirit is poured upon you. And if it is already a fruitful field, it will become like a forest. The Spirit brings increase into our lives. When the Holy Ghost came on the Day of Pentecost, there was unimaginable increase of the church; in one day, 3000 souls were added to the church. The force behind the increase in the early church was the rain of the Spirit.
The church continued in the power of the Spirit till a great company of Jewish priests, who were deep in Judaism, became obedient to the faith. Acts 6:7 says, “And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”
When the ark which represents the power and presence of God was brought to the house of Obed-edom, everything in his house multiplied. This wasn’t a spiritual blessing. It was a physical one. The Lord blessed all that he had – that is physical. I believe Obed-edom has been doing his normal work but there wasn’t any significant increase. But the moment the ark came into his house, something that was meant to kill him, everything in his house began to multiply within 3 months.
2 Samuel 6:11-12 says, “And the ark of the Lord continued in the house of Obed–edom the Gittite three months: and the Lord blessed Obed–edom, and all his household. 12 And it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of Obed–edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed–edom into the city of David with gladness.”
Obed-edom became so blessed because of the ark of God that remained in his house for 3 months. The blessing was so evident that men couldn’t deny it; they saw the transformation in the house of Obed-edom. Then they took the news to David that Obed-edom has been blessed because of the ark of God. David did not waste any more time; he quickly went and brought the ark to his house.
The Holy Ghost brings increase into a man’s life. With only a jaw bone of a donkey, Samson was able to kill a thousand trained soldiers. The results that Samson had in his ministry was really remarkable. With his bear hand, he killed a young lion. This man was able to catch 300 foxes, tied their tails together, set their tails on fire, and sent them into the fields of the Philistines to burn their fields.
Without the Holy Ghost your life will be dry and boring. Seek the Lord deeply in prayer for the Spirit to fall mightily on your life to bring you great increase.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
