THE WORD OF GRACE

Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Our opening scripture were some of the final words that Apostle Paul gave to the Ephesian pastors in that pastoral conference. You will do well to pay diligent attention to it. There is the word of faith according to scriptures (Romans 10:8). Then there is also the word of His grace. These are the two most powerful revelations in scripture. And according to scripture, this word of grace is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among them that are sanctified.
This implies that the word of grace does two things for the man who receives it: builds you up – that means take your life forward; then secondly, gives you an inheritance among them that are sanctified.
Now if you look at the latter part of the opening scripture, it talks about the word of grace giving you an inheritance. You have to know that by the death of Jesus we have been given our inheritance already in Christ. Now why is it saying that the word of His grace will give you an inheritance?
What this means is that even though Jesus died and gave you health, wealth, sound mind, joy, and success, it’s the word of grace, that is, the message of grace, that will transport you into that inheritance. So here, the emphasis is the message of grace. This is why you must of necessity hear the word of grace. As long as you are hearing condemnation and law minded preaching, you will be robbed of your inheritance in Christ.
The inheritance is only gotten by grace through faith. Romans 4:13-14 says, “For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect.”
Any message that lacks the grace element is out to rob you of your inheritance; guard against it. Make sure that what you hear have the undertone of grace, irrespective of the subject of teaching. Grace builds! Grace gives you the inheritance in Christ. This is why I preach the word of His grace. Stay under the waterfall of His grace and you will inherit all things.
