Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
If everything we see today came from words, it means that our lives are ruled by words. Words and thoughts are the most potent forces on earth; it is not the powerful ammunitions of the military. There is something more powerful than sophisticated guns and atomic bombs. Because words cannot be seen, some folks don’t see its power.
Words look subtle and deceptive to men. But the truth is that, your life is the way it is today because of words. On a daily basis, we are creating our world with words, knowingly or unknowingly.
We create the happenings of our lives by the words we speak or allow into our lives. Thus be careful the words that you allow into your life. Guard your mind which is the doorway into your life.
Scripture says, all things were made by the word. This means that your health is made by the word; your prosperity is made by the word; your protection is made by the word; your marriage is made by the word. Everything that you will ever get will come from words, either spoken or believed and acted upon.
You must of necessity place great importance on words. I know there are some folks who don’t value words. These are people who joke with words spoken, either by them or other people – words means nothing to such people.
I remember while I was in my second year in the university, one time my nose was running and I was coughing. Then one fellow said, Victor, you have cold. Immediately I replied, I don’t have cold. The fellow was taken aback. Again he said, you have cold. Again I replied, I don’t have cold. He said can’t you see your nose is running and you are coughing? “It is not necessary”, I replied. It wasn’t long before that cold and cough went back to the sender. I would not allow anyone to speak death on me. I counter those death words and that was the end of it.
If you are going to do well in your career, you have to take heed to the words that come to you. You cannot be exposed to wrong teachings and words, and at the same time see your life alright; that’s not possible. According to the law of attraction, your life go in the way of your dominant thought.
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
