CALLED TO A LIFE OF GLORY
CALLED TO A LIFE OF GLORY

2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
What a calling we have in Christ Jesus! We have been called to glory; this implies that we have been called to a life of glory, beauty and power. Anything less than glory is not our inheritance. Sickness is not glory; there is no glory in poverty; there is no glory in oppression; there is no glory when your landlord is threatening to eject you out and you can't pay the children school fees and they are at home.
These are all reflections of a life of reproach. It is an insult to redemption. Jesus did not die for nothing. He died that we might live; He became sick that we will become healthy; He became poor that we might be made rich; He suffered reproach so that we will enjoy honor and glory; He suffered humiliation so that we will be honored and dignified.
This is the gospel; plain and simple. There are some believers who believe that sometimes God gets glory in their sickness and poverty. God is a dignified God. And there is nothing dignified about sickness and poverty.
This glory life is not something we are trying to make happen. Rather it is where we have been called to. This is something that we have to know intimately. Notice the word "called" in our opening scripture is in the past tense. It implies that it is already done.
Hence our lives must reflect the glory of God. God did not call us to reproach and shame but to glory and virtue (excellence). We are the glory of God. We are to display the perfections of Christ. And the glory is for the now and not just the sweet bye and bye.
Rom 9:23-24 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
The glory life can be activated through active meditation on the word day and night; it comes by beholding the mirror of God; and as we do that, we are changed from glory to glory. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God, I believe that Jesus died and was raised for me. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I declare that I am born again in Jesus’ name.
