IT TAKES FAITH TO WALK WITH GOD

Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

You cannot have an effective walk with God without faith; in fact, you cannot walk with God without faith for it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). The story of Abraham is a true picture of faith. When God called Abraham to leave his father's house to a land He will show him afterward, he left not knowing exactly where the land was. He went out by faith; believing that God will guide him. He believed God and embarked on the journey not having the full details of his assignment.

But as he kept on moving, God began directing his steps till he finally arrived at the land of promise, Canaan. This is how God works. You have to learn to trust God. For some folks when God asked them to do something, they want full details before they will obey. Your details comes when you start moving in the direction God wants you to go; and this takes faith. It is easier to steer a ship that is moving than one that is anchored in the comfort and safety of the harbor. And someone rightly said, “You will never know a distant shore until you leave the safety of the harbor.”

Sometimes it looks like a leap in the dark but it is not; faith is rather a leap on the word. Folks who want to get all details before obeying God will one day be killed in an accident. Let me explain: for instance, if you are in a building or a place and a disaster is about to strike, and God ask you to leave that place, and you keep on asking why Lord? You will be there till you are caught up in disaster. It has happened to a lot of folks. Be wise. It is wisdom to believe and obey God. You lose nothing by obeying the promptings of the Spirit. Take steps of faith today!
