HAVE A SENSE OF GOD’S LOVE

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

God is love; this is who He is. It is His true nature. The day you got born again by believing and confessing Jesus as Lord of your life, you became a child of God. This means that now you are a child of love because God is love. We were born into His infinite love; that’s why the scripture calls us “beloved”.

In the New Testament, one reason why the Holy Spirit addresses us as God's beloved is to give us a sense of His love. It is one thing for God to love you and it is one thing for you to believe and be conscious of that unconditional love that never fails. Always believe and lean on His love.

1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

This is what God told Israel:

Jeremiah 31:3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

This is awesome. This scripture clearly reveals the heart of God. It lets us know that the Bible is God’s love letter to us and not His judgments to us. Meditate on this scripture and see the consciousness of this psalmist:

Psalm 143:8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

To truly see God’s love, you have to look at the cross for it is the greatest demonstration of God’s love. And in His love we find security and stability. Have a sense of God's love as you go through the day. Do have love breaks where you declare and meditate on God's love for you. As you do that, you are practicing the Father's love. Because of Jesus' finished work, you are God's beloved. Hallelujah!
