PICKING UP DIVINE SIGNALS

In music, one of the vital things the musician need is what they called “the musical ear”. This is the ability of the instrumentalist to be able to pick up the right key while someone is singing. What I mean is that, if someone raises a song, the instrumentalist has to be able to decode what key the person is singing in before playing along the song. If the person singing is in “key D” while the instrumentalist is playing “key C”, there will be discord hence no harmony.

I remember while learning how to play keyboard, this was one of the difficult hurdles I have to overcome. Our musical instructor back then kept on stressing the importance of being able to pick up the right key. Interestingly, developing the “musical ear” cannot be really taught per se; you have to develop it yourself. And once I got it right, today I can pick any key someone may be singing in.

This is the same in the realm of the spirit. The ability to pick up signals from the Holy Spirit is so vital to our walk in the kingdom. If you cannot pick up signals from heaven, you are going to grope in the dark. And you will just be walking in assumptions and doing trial and error. The result will be a life of frustration. This can negatively affect your marriage, business, job and ministry greatly, as the wisdom of God required for success will elude you.

Unfortunately, many of God’s people are not picking up signals from heaven. Heaven is transmitting signals all the time. Your antenna must be raised and positioned properly in order to be able get what the Spirit is communicating to the church. This is one thing no one can develop for you; you have to learn to do it yourself. Your Pastor cannot do it for you. You have to learn to sharpen your spiritual sight and hearing.

The key to developing your spiritual sensitivity is to start praying in tongues a lot. Scripture says, as you pray in the Spirit, your spirit prays and you utter mysteries. And as this mysteries are interpreted to you by the Spirit, you will begin to get what God is saying. Speaking in tongues is the quickest way to charge your spirit hence the quickest way to help you hear from God. It synchronises your spirit with God’s Spirit. Also, meditate a lot on the word of God. Someone rightly said, when you open your Bible, God opens His mouth. The word is God’s voice. Feed on the word daily, speak in tongues a lot and also stay calm on the inside to hear and you will be able to receive signals that is being transmitted from heaven.
