THE LORD'S SUPPER IS ALL ABOUT JESUS

Luke 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Jesus instituted what is known as “The Lord’s Supper”. It is not man’s idea; it is the wisdom of God for the believer’s advantage and prosperity. If we would truly understand what it represents and the power in it thereof, our lives will be transformed greatly.
On the night of the Passover, Jesus took bread and broke and gave it to His disciples and said, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. The Lord’s table is about Jesus and not us. The focus is not us but Him and what He did for us. One major benefit of the Lord’s supper is that it delivers us from self to focusing on Jesus; it makes us Christ occupied. Anytime we partake of the Lord’s supper, we are to remember Him and not our sins.
Unfortunately, in many churches, during communion services, it is time to remind people of their sins. Does that focus on the Lord Jesus or on us? This is vital. If all we do is remind people of their sins and tell them that because of some sin in their life they are not qualified to come, it is remembrance of sins and not Jesus. We need to get the focus right.
The next time you eat the Lord’s supper, remember that He is your righteousness. On the cross Jesus became sin that we might be made the righteousness of God. What a beauty to behold! Righteousness by faith consciousness is better than sin consciousness. And the Lord’s supper gives you that consciousness. When you eat the Lord’s supper remember that Jesus is your healer. Your health is of Him.
When you partake of the Lord’s supper, keep it deep in your thoughts that without Jesus you are nobody. He is your very life. This thinking will produce true humility in you. Christ is your wisdom; Christ is your strength; Christ is your redemption. These things keep in your mind whenever you partake the Lord’s supper.
