GOD HAS A GROWTH CALENDAR FOR EVERY BELIEVER IN CHRIST

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection;

It is very difficult to nurture people who are not ready to go to the next level. I mean folks who are dull of hearing. Apostle Paul in writing to the Hebrew believers, admonished them to leave the elementary principles of Christ and move on to maturity. That means it is time to go to higher levels of Christian virtues and revelations. Paul had wanted to share lots of truths with them but he could not for they were dull of hearing.

Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

The same can be said of some believers today. Some believers in Christ are just dull of hearing; they aren’t getting the message. They have become dormant and retarded in the things of God. They are not making any real progress in their walk of faith. The Holy Ghost is admonishing us to go up to maturity. This is the call from the Spirit of God to the church of Jesus Christ. And we have to respond accordingly to this clarion call. Let us go up unto perfection or maturity.

We were not born again to remain where we are. For everyday that we live, we are supposed to be making progress in our walk of faith. Every living thing grows; it is one of their characteristics. It shows a sign of life. God designed every living thing to grow and come to the place of maturity. This is why when you plant a crop, you the farmer expect that at certain point in time, the crop should yield fruits and produce after its kind. Hence the goal of every farmer is to see his plants or animals come to the place of maturity where they can begin to get something from it.

God has a growth calendar for every believer. It is called “by this time you ought to be teachers”. At every given time in your life, God expects you to be at a certain level of growth and maturity. Are you at where you are supposed to be in your Christian life according to God’s calendar for you? Do you know God’s calendar for you? These are serious questions that requires answers.

It is dangerous not to grow up and mature spiritually. Don’t get retarded in the faith; make real spiritual progress. You have to exert yourself to make this happen. It is all about swimming against the currents and not flowing with the current. Make up your mind to get matured in the things of God. It is time to leave the babyhood stage of the Christian faith and move on to higher levels in Christ. It is only when you grow up that you can bring others up with you.
