THE POWER OF VISION

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Someone rightly said, “If there is no sign on the bus, indicating where it is going, no one is going to get on it; and no one is going to put money into it.”

One time I watched a film titled “Fighting”. It all started about this guy who was selling his wares on the floor by the road side. Certain trouble makers came around to make trouble with him, but he stood on his ground and fought them. There was this fellow who was standing by watching all these proceedings. After the brawl, he went to this hustler and said, I can help you to make $5000.00 by fighting.

This fellow reasoned the deal and left his hustling business and went fighting for money. They ended up having great fights. I said that to say that, the reason the hustler left his hustling business was because he was shown a better vision which he couldn’t resist.

This is the same method God uses to call people to do things for Him. When He came to Abraham this were His words: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed (Genesis 12:2‭-‬3). ‬‬

Why would anyone in his right mind reject this kind of offer?
When God came to Moses, He gave him the vision of the promised land. God does not call people for nothing; there is always something on the table to compel men to leave their miserable visions and follow His.

When Jesus met those fishermen, He said to them, follow me and I will make you fishers of men. And they left their fishing business and followed Jesus. God does not call people without making them great offers. This offer is termed “vision”. He shows you the future and calls you to step into it by faith.

In leadership, if you want people to follow you, you cannot force them; you would have to give them a reason to follow you; this have been my philosophy in leadership. You who want people to follow you, do you have anything to give to them? You must ask yourself this sincere question and answer it before asking people to follow you.

Following a leader without a clear cut vision is dangerous. On the other hand, a leader with a strong and compelling vision will have people following and putting money into his vision.
