Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
This is one of those frightening verses in the Bible. If you really understand what this scripture means, you will not place yourself under the law. One of the most unfortunate thing that has happened to the church is the preaching and practicing of the law of Moses in New Testament days.
Today, folks still preach vehemently that we are supposed to keep the Ten Commandments. Folks still observe the Sabbath and other things under the law. Some preach that a woman who wears trousers will go to hell; if you don’t cover your hair before you pray you will not receive answers to your prayers.
The ridiculous thing about these folks is that they have picked and chosen which part of the law to obey. They tell you certain part of the law has been fulfilled, but for some we have to obey them.
The law is a compulsive whole; thus, if you want to live by the law, you will have to obey everything. You cannot pick and choose which part of the law to obey. If you observe the Sabbath then you should not practice mixed cropping and not wear garment of mixed colours.
James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
The truth is that if you fail in just one of the commandments, according to scripture, you have broken all of them. What it means is that if you lie, you have also committed murder even though you might have not been involved in the very act. And since there is no one who can obey all of the laws, then it stands that those who try to live by the law are all transgressors and deserve God’s punishment.
Under the New Testament, we are never told to obey the law. Scripture says, the just shall live by faith and not by the law for the law is not of faith. Those who are trying to observe the law of Moses are under the curse. This implies that they cannot prosper to the fullest; they cannot experience the lasting glory and the liberty of the Spirit. Grace is life; place yourself under grace and you will enjoy true liberty in Christ Jesus.
