THE HOLY COMMUNION IS SATAN'S DEFEAT

1 Corinthians 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

If satan had known that by killing Jesus would result to his defeat, he wouldn’t have done it, together with the help of evil men. The cross is satan’s defeat. Hebrews 2:14, says, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil”. Through death Jesus paralysed the devil; it implies that He completely disarmed satan. Now what do we do with all of this?

From our opening scripture, we were introduced to some beautiful thought about the power of the Holy Communion. It says, as often you eat of this bread, and drink this cup, you do proclaim the Lord’s death. Thus partaking of the Holy Communion is a proclamation of the Lord’s death.

I know there are folks who misinterpret this scripture by saying, anytime we eat the Holy Communion, we should go out and evangelise. Far from it; that’s not true. I remember back on campus we went to evangelise anytime we had a communion service. Even though there is nothing wrong with evangelising, but that interpretation was wrong, and it made void the power of that scripture.

The true meaning of that scripture is that, anytime we partake of the Holy Communion, we are actually declaring what Jesus did for us on the cross. We are actually declaring and affirming all the blessings of redemption. And since satan was defeated on the cross, anytime you partake of the Holy Communion, you are actually affirming and declaring his defeat. And the more you do that, the more you are enforcing your dominion on the forces of darkness, sickness, oppression, depression and all kinds of satanic bondages.

On the night of the Passover in Egypt, when the lamb was slain and the blood was put on the doorposts and lintels (a picture of the death of Jesus), Pharaoh‘s hold on Israel was broken. Something that the plagues could not do, the blood accomplished it. And we were told Israel came out with gold and silver, and there was none feeble among them.

Psalms 105:37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

They were strengthened by eating the roasted lamb. With this new light concerning the Holy Communion, partake it in faith, knowing fully well that, you are proclaiming satan’s defeat. This is one reason why you should take the Holy Communion often and not once in a month or in a week. I believe you should eat it everyday for a victorious life in Christ. Hallelujah!
