PLACE VALUE ON THE GIFT OF GOD

1 Thessalonians 5:12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

If you are not instructed properly in the things of God, your life will go in the wrong direction; you will always be falling into the ditch. For lack of proper teaching in the body of Christ, a lot of God’s people don’t know the essence of the pastoral ministry and anointing. Hence they are not able to take advantage of the blessing that comes from such a wonderful ministry God has designed for their benefit.

From our theme scripture, the Holy Spirit admonishes us to esteem our leaders in the church very highly in love. Now to esteem them is great; but the scripture says, esteem them very highly in love for their work sake. That’s awesome!

I know there are believers who get offended when you speak highly of a minister of the gospel of Christ. They don’t know the word of God. I admonish you in the name of Jesus to esteem your Pastor very highly. This is plain scripture and not man’s opinion. It will bring tremendous blessings and promotions into your life.

Learn to place value on your Pastor and church leaders – do not take them for granted. You have to learn to place value on the teaching of the Pastor in that local church. Your prosperity depends on how you handle the things you are taught in church. Don’t get to the place where you begin to make light of the things you are taught in church.

Don’t be among those who say things like, “Oh! We know these things; we have heard them before; we want something different.” That’s the spirit of the mixed multitude who caused Israel to fell a lusting in the wilderness; and it brought God’s anger on the people.

The value you place on your Pastor will determine how much you receive from his ministry. Your Pastor is God’s gift to you. Value him. Cherish him. Speak highly of him. Pray for him. Share your substance with him. Don’t be among those who trade tales in church about their Pastor, slandering and maligning him in the process.

These untoward attitude attracts too much trouble. Be among those who protect the Pastor from unscrupulous members. Your Pastor is just like yourself with weakness and faults. Don’t focus on those things. Look at the anointing on him and tap from it. Honour your Pastor and it will increase you greatly. Receive him as God’s gift to you.
