YOU CAN BE WEAK IN YOUR FAITH WALK

I believe this title is a wake up call to all believers in the body of Christ. And I know some folks will find his topic weird and may even reject it out rightly. But if you are a Bible student, and you have the understanding of the whole counsel of God, you will know that it is true that a believer can be weak in the things of God. You don’t even need to go far; just even in your local church there may be weak believers, some you may probably know.

You can be weak in giving; you can be weak in going to church; you can be weak in praying; you can be weak in studying the word; you can be weak in evangelism. May be once upon a time you were very active in giving; but now you find it hard to give to God – paying your tithe has now become a challenge – you have to debate it with the Holy Ghost before giving it.

For others who were once active in going to church, now go to church once a while. Others don’t even need the devil to trouble them; they will simply not just go to church.

One time I met a gentleman while we were getting ready for a church service; he told me that, all these things you guys are doing, we have done them before. As much as I tried to convince him by encouraging him, it proved futile. If it is not possible for a child of God to be weak in the faith, scripture will not command us to be strong in the Lord.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Scripture also instructs us to encourage one another as we see the day approaching (Hebrews 10:25). This is vital; and this encouragement happens when we meet in church meetings.

There is an inner strengthening we receive when we go to church. God does not delight to see you His beloved weak in faith and in the things of God. God wants you to be strong and giant in the kingdom so that you will be able to do mighty things for Him.

You need to guard your mind from wrong thoughts; don’t read or watch things that will not inspire faith in you. Take your prayer life seriously; you can enhance it by attending prayer meetings at church and also joining the prayer band in your local church. Keep your spiritual fervour on boiling point.

No matter how weak you are, there is grace to carry you up. Wake up and dust yourself. There is more to be accomplished for Jesus; Abraham was strong in faith; get strengthened in your faith today for greater works. Praise the Lord!
