Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Ask: It means there is something there you have seen that you want hence you ask for it. You cannot ask for what you have not seen. The reason why we do not ask God for big things is because we have not seen it yet in God’s word. You only ask for what you know is there.
Your asking shows that you have faith in the person you are asking. When you ask God for something, it shows that you believe that He is able and willing to do what you ask; it is a proof of your faith in Him. In essence, you are magnifying Him. You are saying that, I know that you are well able to do what I am asking for.
Seek: You seek for something that you have not seen. What you see you do not search for it. You only search for what you have not seen. We seek to find something. We seek for the purpose of discovery. And those who seek finds. Discovery is for seekers. Those who don’t seek will never find.
Discovering the things of God is not by accident. You have to make a deliberate search. The reason we search for the things of God is because they are hidden from men; they are not on the ordinary plane of life. And it is only reserved for seekers. God wants us to seek after Him. He is telling you, come after me and I will show you mighty things.
Knock: When you knock on a door, you are asking for access. A door that is opened doesn't require knocking. In order to access the things of God, we have to knock on heaven's door. Are you knocking on heaven's door for something that you desire? Keep on knocking and it shall be opened for you. God is a faithful God. And He has told us to ask, seek and knock. And when we do, we will receive, we will find and we will have access. Praise God!
