Mark 16:18 ....if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them......

This is divine immunity. It is just too much for the human mind to comprehend. Jesus knew the world in which we live in ahead of time. He knew there will be wicked men and women who will like to poison us through food thus He gave us divine immunity long before they will ever plot that evil. Child of God, do not be afraid of poison; you are all covered. It is in the covenant; it is your covenant right.

One time, certain armed robbers intercepted a man of God while he journeyed on the road. They forced him out his car, pulled out the battery and pour out the liquid inside and mixed some concoction and gave to him to drink and die. Some folks will just pass out even before drinking the substance.

This dear man of God who have been captured by these sons of the devil, held the substance and prayed: Thank you Father for this substance. It nourishes my body in Jesus‘ name. Then he drank it as ordered by the armed robbers. Then they looked on to see him die. After watching for a while and man did not even show any signs of death, they took to their heels.

Why did this man of God escape this wicked fellows? Why didn’t the deadly substance kill him? This man knew something most folks don’t know. He knew if he drinks any deadly thing it will not harm him. He believed it hence it worked for him. This same substance could have killed ordinary fellows. You have to know that we are not ordinary beings. We are gods.

A little caution here: we are not saying that you should go and look for a deadly substance and drink to show you have divine immunity. That’s equal to stupidly; you will die. Notice what that the verse of scripture says, ...if they drink any deadly thing it shall not harm them.

It is not “when they drink any deadly thing” but “if they drink any deadly thing." The word “if” is of great importance. It implies “conditional”. Notice the man of God in the story above did not pour the liquid substance to drink but he was forced to drink at gun point.

What God is saying is that, if someone puts poison in food unknowingly to you for you to eat and die, it will not harm you. But if someone tells you that this thing is deadly, don’t go ahead to drink it to prove anything. That will be tempting God and God cannot be tempted. Let us act in wisdom. No substance on earth has power to kill you. You have divine immunity!
