Psalms 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
You don’t necessarily have to look that old than your real age; you can look much younger in appearance than your age; this is the fact of scripture; it is not something that I am trying to make it up; I have seen it both in scripture and real life.
A while ago, I met a fellow whom we both grew up together; and he said, Victor, you haven’t really changed that much; all our mates look like old men now. Well, I wasn’t surprised by his statement; it is something I hear all the time. I have seen the shock on people’s faces when they get to know my real age because I look much younger than my real age. Well, this has not happened by accident; it is something that I firmly believed in and affirm.
I always tell our people at church that I will be better than this when I am 80 – I will be much stronger and healthier. This is not a myth. Those of you who know Joseph Prince very well will attest to the fact that he look much younger than his real age – the man is approaching 60, yet he look like someone in his 20s. Now don’t tell me it doesn’t work.
If you are still in doubt, there is another man in scripture who ceased to grow old when he turned 40. The man’s name is Caleb; listen to his testimony: And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in (Joshua 14:10-11).
This man was forty when Moses sent him and Joshua to spy out the land. Now he is 85 and he said, his strength is just as when he was 40. This means something happened to Caleb’s body – he stopped aging; this is for real. Or are you still in doubt? The fact that it may not be your experience does not make it a lie. You have to humble yourself and accept the truth of scripture.
From our opening scripture, your renewal of your youth is in your mouth – he fills your mouth with good things – this is revelation of the word. And as you speak them by faith, it begins to affect your body. If you say things like, I am dying, I look old, I am a weak person, you will really look old than your age. Of course the kind of lifestyle that you live also counts. Some people don’t eat well; while others just love looking old – you see it in their dressing and even the way they walk – this is much more of a mindset.
I have caught things in scripture that have become part of my life. I have seen Moses at 120 able to climb mountains; and he died with his strength and sight intact. If you believe the world instead of the word, you will age very quickly and look like a granny while you are in your 30s. You will do yourself a lot of good by believing the word of God. Look at yourself in the mirror each morning and say, I look younger everyday – something will happen to your body.
