YOU NEED THE HOLY GHOST

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Jesus knew we couldn’t live the life that He brought to us all by ourselves. For that reason He sent us the blessed Holy Ghost to be with us and guide us through this life. Jesus said, it is expedient, needful and advantageous, that I go away in order for the Comforter, the Holy Spirit to come.

There is nothing much that we can achieve without the help of the Holy Ghost. After Jesus’ resurrection, the disciples of Jesus had the greatest news and headline article of all time to tell men everywhere. But Jesus knew if they go out by themselves they will fail. So He told them: And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49)

The disciples had to tarry till the Spirit came upon them in power. Then they went out and turned their world upside down. When the Holy Ghost came upon the Apostles and disciples at the upper room on the Day of Pentecost, Peter preached one message and 3000 men gave their lives to Christ. On the streets of Jerusalem, there was a riot – miracles and signs and wonders were done everywhere.

The Holy Ghost is the one who gives life to everything. He is the life giver. He is the one who gives life to the things that we do. Genesis 2:7 says, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

When man was created from the dust of the ground, he was lifeless, just a piece of dirt. But the moment God breathed His Spirit into him, man became a living soul. Without the Holy Ghost, all you are and all you are doing is just a piece of dirt with no life in it – you really need the Holy Ghost. Don’t you think so? The giver of life is the Holy Ghost. He is the one who quickens things in our lives. He can even quicken or give life to your mortal body to remain strong and young (Romans 8:11).

It is high time the church give the Holy Ghost His rightful place. As long as we keep Him outside the things that we do, all we will get is a piece of dirt that looks like a man with no life. Would to God that the we will allow the Holy Ghost to breathe into the things that we do. We need to allow the Holy Ghost to breathe into our meetings, evangelism, prayer lives, Bible study, relationships, marriages, business, jobs etc.
