Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

The "windows of heaven" is an important concept in scripture. When Elijah shut the heavens and there was no rain in the land for three and half years, there was drought and famine. What Elijah did was that he shut the windows of heaven and there was no rain in the land. In the book of Genesis, the Bible speaks of the windows of heaven which God opened, and there was a flooding of the earth in the days of Noah.

According to Deuteronomy 28, a closed heaven is a picture of a curse. And when a man is operating under a closed heaven, life becomes harder as the curse begin to work against him. Without an open heaven, the blessings of God are not pouring on you. When the heavens are shut the earth suffers. The earth is dependent on the heavens for survival.

Our opening scripture says, when you tithe the windows of heaven are opened over you. If you tithe as individual the heavens over your head are opened. If you tithe as a church or business organization, the heavens over your organization are opened.

Everyone has a heaven over them. You have your heaven and I have my heaven. The condition of your heaven is what will determine the happenings in your life. This is why two people can be under the same roof and operate under different types of heavens. What is the condition of your heaven over your head? I am not talking about a physical heaven – but I am referring to a spiritual heaven over your head. This is so important. You have to start paying attention to the condition of your heaven. This is why you must take your tithing seriously.

You have to take advantage of open heavens secured by tithing; and you do this by putting your hand to productive work for the open heavens to come upon it. Just tithing is not enough. When you tithe the heavens are opened and rain falls. What do you use rain for? To water your seeds and crops of course to gather in the corn and wine. Thus, use the power of tithing to water your investments. Wisdom tells you to create more investments for the rain to fall on it to produce more increase.
