Acts 10:15 And the voice came to him again a second time, What God has cleansed and pronounced clean, do not you defile and profane by regarding and calling common and unhallowed or unclean. AMPC
In Bible days, Gentiles were called unclean people. Israel saw every Gentile nation as unclean according to the law of Moses – they were not supposed to have any dealings with any nation on earth.
Now after Jesus came and died and emancipation was declared for all men by His precious blood, there was a change. But Israel did not know it – even the church in Jerusalem still saw Gentiles as unclean people so much they blamed Peter for going to preach to the Gentiles.
One time while Peter prayed at noon, he fell into a trance and saw all kinds of animals which according to the law were unclean. But God told him to kill it and eat. Peter replied, not so Lord. Then God said, do not call unclean what I have called clean. Today, God is still telling us the same thing: don’t call unclean what I have called clean. In the eyes of God every believer in Christ is clean. The day you gave your life to Christ, you were cleansed from all sin and filth; God Almighty pronounced you clean and righteous. Don’t call yourself unclean.
The Greek word for “confession” is “homologia” which means saying the same thing in consent. You are to say the same thing that God has said concerning your status in Christ. God sees you righteous and holy and clean. Never call yourself unclean because of some sin you might have committed. Your righteousness was given to you as a gift and not a reward. Thus, this righteousness cannot be tainted by your sins – it is an everlasting righteousness.
Don’t call another fellow believer as a dirty fellow. Some pastors even stand on the pulpit and call their members dirty. The more you do that, the more they will live dirty – that’s the way it works. On the other hand, the more you pronounce them clean, the more they will live clean. God is looking for a priesthood to pronounce His people clean.
If God says, you are righteous, don’t say, I am unrighteous. If God says, you are healed, don’t say I am sick. If God says, you are rich by the divine exchange, don’t say, I am broke and poor. If God says, you have a sound mind, don’t say, I can’t think straight. Simply say what God has said in faith.
