REACH OUT FOR THE SWORD

1 Kings 3:24‭-‬25 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.

Immediately Solomon asked God for wisdom, there came two prostitutes to him with the case of a dead and living children, with both claiming the living child is theirs. After hearing both parties, Solomon said, bring me a sword and divide the living child into two halves and give one to the other.

Upon that judicial statement, the mother of the living child said, don’t kill the child, give the child to the other woman. The other woman said, kill the child, it should neither be for any of us. Solomon by the wisdom of God said, give the child to the woman who said the child should not be killed for she is the mother and in no wise slay it.

What was the solution to the answer of the problem the prostitutes brought to king Solomon? The answer is the sword. “Sword” in scripture speaks of the word of God. Hebrews 4:12 says “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

For most people when they are faced with the challenges of life, they don’t resort to the word of God – it is even the last thing on their minds. Little did they know that the solution that they are looking for is in the word of God. The word of God contains all the solutions that you will ever need in life.

Thus, the first place to turn for solution in times of crisis is God’s word. The word of God will tell you what to do as far as your situation is concerned. God’s word is His wisdom for solutions. Consult the word for solutions. Get relevant tapes and books concerning your situation, and imbibe the content in prayer and meditation. And you will definitely find the solution to your problem.
