MORE THAN ENOUGH TO EAT AND TO SPARE
MORE THAN ENOUGH TO EAT AND TO SPARE

Luke 15:17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
One remarkable thing about “the Father’s house” is that, there is enough to eat and to spare – this is even for servants. How much more sons? The prodigal son has such an understanding of what the father’s house looks like.
While he was in a distant country, far from his father, he came to his senses and realised that, even in my father’s house, servants have enough to eat and to spare.
There is nothing much in the world. It is rather unfortunate to hear some Christians say that, when I was in the world, things were even better than when I gave my life to Christ – that is garbage; and you should never talk like that as a believer in Christ. What you have in Christ is greater than what the richest unsaved person has.
It is an insult to compare yourself to an unbeliever. The unbeliever have no hope of eternal life with God. When he dies, he is lost forever – doomed to destruction. But the believer has hope even after this life. And in this life God has promised to give us more than enough.
Deuteronomy 28:11-12 says, “And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.”
What we need to do is line up with covenant demands. If we will diligently learn God’s word on abundance and apply it, the blessings and abundance that God promised us in His word will be ours to enjoy. All the wealth in the world belongs to God. And you are an heir of God – joint heirs with Christ. All of God’s wealth have been willed to you.
Learn to have the abundant mentality. Think plenty. Think abundance. Never see yourself lacking anything in this life. Abundance is yours in Christ Jesus!
