PRAYER BRINGS CLARITY

2 Samuel 5:19 And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand. KJV

One of the many benefits of prayer is that, it brings clarity into your life as a believer in Christ Jesus. One time Jesus needed to choose 12 men from His disciples as Apostles – He needed clarity. And scripture tells us that He continued the whole night in prayer to God (Luke 6:12). And by the time it was day, He chose His apostles – and even with all the praying, there was still a Judas among them. What would have happened if He hadn’t prayed?

You cannot trust your mind in making crucial decisions. You will have to depend on the Holy Spirit to bring clarity into your life. Many have journeyed into a land of no return because they didn’t wait upon the Lord in prayer to get clarification on the issue at hand, and they took off like a tornado and crashed.

When you don’t know what to do, pray the “prayer of enquiry”. Wisdom is what you need to turn that situation around. And scripture tells us the way to access wisdom is to ask God. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

What this scripture is saying is that, if you have come to the cross roads of life and don’t know what to do, ask God for His wisdom to come out of the trouble or situation.

Scripture tells us that one time David and his men lost everything (wives, children and livestock), as the Amalekite came to raid Ziklag, David’s town. While everyone spoke of stoning David, David found strength in God and asked God for direction. Upon that prayer, God told him to pursue the enemies. He acted on that word and overtook the enemies and recovered everything.

I don’t know where you may be right now in your life; but if you will spend some time to pray about that situation, God will give you wisdom. Sometimes too you may have received a vision from God about ministry, business or some other thing. Don’t just rush into pursuing that vision. You will need clarity on what the vision is and how to actualize it and make it a reality. In moments like this, set yourself apart and seek God in prayers and fasting. Sometime it may take days, weeks, months or even years, but persist; and as you spend more time with the Lord, things will become much clearer.
