Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

God’s word is the only instrument of change; it is the only instrument that can touch both body, soul and spirit of a man. Secular knowledge affects only the mind and probably a little on the body. However, it cannot guarantee true change even of the mind and body. God’s word can penetrate all three compartments of man – spirit, soul, and body.

God’s word is spirit and life. The only thing that can give life is the word of God.

Isaiah 52:2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

You are not out yet; it is not over until God says it is over. Someone once said, failure is part of success. The fact that you have failed in something doesn’t mean end of story – it is just another lesson of success that you have learnt – this is how you handle failures in life – you’ve just got to know what doesn’t work.

Our opening scripture admonishes us to shake thyself from the dust. “Dust” speaks of condemnation, guilt, failure and discouragement. God is telling you today to shake yourself from the dust; He is telling you to arise from the dust of defeat, failure, discouragement, condemnation and guilt.

Judges 16:17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. KJV

Until we appreciate the place of the anointing in our lives, we are going to struggle in this walk of faith. You must humble yourself and accept the truth that you are not worth much without the anointing – this has to sink deep down your heart. This consciousness will keep you always humble and dependent on the Spirit for the anointing for effective operations.

Samson knew the anointing that was upon his life. He knew the laws governing the anointing. He knew that the violation of the laws will result to he being reduced to an ordinary man. He knew he was just an ordinary man without the anointing. Without the anointing, you are weak like other men. There are men and there are men.

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Pray fervently. James 5:16 says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Praying fervently is the sure way to get results in prayer. Prayer is most effective when it is prayed fervently. Fervent means heartfelt, earnest, continued, emotions and feelings involved etc. If your prayer is not involved with your emotions and heart, you are just doodling and dawdling.

I don’t believe in diplomatic prayers. Some Christians are diplomatic Christians. They just stand still somewhere mumbling some few words; they don’t want to sweat; they jeered those who pray and shout and make noise. Such Christians are cold in the things of God.

Praying scriptural prayer refers to content; this implies that the content of your prayer is scripture. Praying this way helps you to pray the will of God effectively and you can never pray amiss.

Pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation. Ephesians 1:17‭-‬18 says, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.”‬‬‬‬‬‬
