THE SPIRIT OF REVELATION

Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: KJV

Psalm 119:18 says, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” What a prayer! I would to God that this will become your daily desire and prayer.
This prayer is in line with what the Apostle Paul prayed in our opening scripture for the Ephesian brethren. And the answer will be being enlightened and able to know the hope of your calling and the riches of His inheritance in the saints.

The word of God is full of great goodies. The precious jewels and treasures in the Bible are incredible and beyond description. And it will only take the Spirit of revelation to unveil and mine these goodies in God’s word.

Revelation in the Greek is “apokalupsis”, which means to unveil, uncover or discover. It has to do with the shedding of light on a substance in order to know the exact and true nature of that thing. In the scriptures are gems that are hidden; it will only take the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of revelation to make them known to you.

You cannot use your mind to know the word. Many have journeyed into error because they ignore the Holy Spirit in their study of the Bible. The Bible was inspired by Holy Spirit; He moved men to write down the word. He is the author of the scriptures. In order to know the scriptures with the right interpretation, you will require the help of the Spirit.

There is an anointing that teaches and guides into all truth. And that anointing is of the Spirit. Anytime you open your Bible or listening to a tape, ask the Holy Spirit to unveil the word to you. As you do that you will be amazed at the unparalleled understanding you will receive and the discoveries you will make. You will be like the one who has found great spoil as the Psalmist described (Psalms 119:162). Hallelujah!
