GO TO THEM THAT SELL AND BUY GREATNESS

Matthew 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

My wife works for great designers in the country and in the U.K and the U.S.A. But this didn’t just happen because she is a believer or a pastor’s wife. My wife has grown and developed in her career as a fashion designer and seamstress.

She had a mother who was deeply into fashion. So, she started learning how to sew at home. By the time my wife got into the Polytechnic to read fashion, she knew things most of the class mates did not know. She attended different fashion schools; and did courses in fashion like pattern making and the likes before she got to the Polytechnic.

After Polytechnic, my wife worked with fashion companies; for one in particular (former PSI, Ghana), she rose to be a manager and in charge of making patterns and samples. She had the opportunity to work with expatriates and learnt so many things from them that you may not get from a fashion school.

Anyone can be great in his field of endeavour. One key that Jesus gave to us is to go and buy from those that sell. Who are you learning from? Who is inspiring you to greatness? In my journey of life, I have had mentors in my life who have inspired me to greatness. I have read books and listened to tapes of great men of God that I aspired to.

What do you want to become in life? Who do you look up to in life? You will have to find those who have excelled in that field and go and buy from them; these are those who are selling that Jesus spoke of; those who have something to give to you – go and buy into their ideology that has made them great. Don’t listen to mediocres who are aspiring to be nothing in life; cut yourself away from them if you want to go far in life.

It is not enough that you want to be great. You must begin to make the right investment into your life. And these days, you do not necessarily have to reinvent the wheel. Look for those who have excelled in your field and pattern your vision, career, and ministry after them. Go to them that sell and buy for greatness.
