Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.‬‬ KJV

Your hunger is what draws the power of God to your direction. God doesn’t have time for those who are not hungry for spiritual things. God only satisfies the hungry. You cannot experience true power without a strong spiritual hunger for the Spirit and the word.

1 Peter 2:2 Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation, AMPC

There is nothing as awesome like preaching to a congregation who are hungry and open to the move of the Spirit. It makes the work much much easier. The Holy Spirit moves freely in atmospheres where He is gladly welcomed.

It is difficult to set a wet wood on fire. It is much easier to burn a dry wood than a wet wood. The word is fire and hammer. If the people are dry, a picture of spiritual hunger, it is much easier to set them on fire.

When a church is going to have a visiting minister, it is imperative the host pastor prepares the hearts of the people to receive the man of God. If he does not adequately prepare the people through fasting and prayers, and sharing the exploits of the man’s ministry with the people, the meeting may not be successful. When people’s hearts are prepared, it makes it easy for the people to receive from the man of God. If a man of God is not well received, the power of God may not flow as it ought to.
