THE GREAT COMMISSION IN FULL

Mark 16:15‭-‬18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. ‬‬‬‬16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Many ignore the miraculous as part of the great commission. Most people when they talk about the great commission, they just talk about wining souls and discipleship making; this is all wonderful; but there is more.

Read the great commission in full and you will realise that Jesus included signs that will follow them that believe. Thus He included the miraculous in the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:4 says, And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

Our preaching must not just be with words; it has to be with the demonstration of the Holy Ghost and power. We must see blind eyes open, the lame walking, the deaf hearing, the mute talking, the lepers being cleansed and the dead being raised. Without the demonstration of the Spirit and power, all that we are doing is just speaking words, which is not enough.

Jesus was sent by the Father into this world to save the world. Jesus on earth was a man on a mission. He lived His life fully as one who was on a mission. He was not distracted by things around Him. He was extremely focused on His assignment. This is the way we all ought to live our lives. We are men on mission. Christ has sent us with His glorious gospel. We ought to stay focused and committed to this all important mission of Christ.

Ephesians 3:8‭-‬10 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

When I read this scripture, I am inspired to preach the gospel like never before. What an apostolic commission! Paul said this grace was given to him to preach the unsearchable riches of Christ. Now Paul is no more and gone to heaven; but this is my day. So like Paul, I can say, this grace has also been given to me to preach the unsearchable riches of Christ among the nations, for the purpose of making all men see the fellowship of the mystery, and to help the church to manifest the manifold wisdom of God unto the principalities and powers.
