RECOGNISING THE GRACE OF GOD - MINISTRY GIFTS

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Years ago, God spoke to me and said, “I have anointed you to instruct the body of Christ.” Ever since, I have stood in the office of the teacher, teaching God’s word. I recognized the teaching grace early enough in my life and ministry. And by this anointing, many have been blessed by this grace gift.

I remember while teaching a class as a member of a church – long before I became a pastor, a pastor who happened to be sitting in my class after the Bible class walked up to me and said, the teaching grace is upon you. I smiled and just accepted what that pastor said. And true to it, it has been like that. That dear pastor sensed an anointing while I was teaching.

Those who know my ministry very well knows that the teaching anointing is strong upon my life, dissolving doubts and explaining hard sentences and making difficult things in scriptures look simple.

If you are ever going to receive from ministry gifts, I mean men of God, you should be able to recognize the anointing that they carry; then you can buy into that anointing by faith. For instance, Kenneth Hagin was a teacher and prophet; Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is a pastor and teacher and healing minister; Joel Osteen functions in the ministry of encouragement, which is rare in the body of Christ; Joseph Prince is an apostle and teacher of grace.

The Shunamite woman said to the husband about the prophet Elisha, I perceive this is a holy man of God. Thus she ministered to Elisha and honoured him very well. And by her receiving the prophet of God, God through the prophet gave her a son, at the time her husband was really old, and the woman had no hope of having a child.

Paul said that, the apostles in Jerusalem perceived the grace of God upon him (Galatians 2:9) and gave him and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship. Our spiritual perception is vital in receiving from ministry gifts. Learn to recognize the giftings that men of God carry. It will greatly help you to receive from them. God gave us ministry gifts. Your responsibility is to recognize the kind of gift they carry and draw from them. May God quicken your spiritual perception in the name of Jesus Christ.
