LOVE WILL PUT THE DEVIL WHERE HE BELONGS

James 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

We can choose to create an atmosphere of love or one of strife and disorder. The choice is up to us. Atmospheres have power; and atmosphere determines what grows there. Whatever you want to grow in your life you can create it if you know what to do. And whether you know it or not, you are creating things all the time by your thinking, confessions and actions.

God is love; and love is God. And where there is love there is God. And where there is God there is joy and peace. Hallelujah! From our opening scripture, we were told that where there is envying and strife, there is confusion and every evil work. It implies that where there is strife, you don’t really need to pray for confusion and every evil work; it is sure they will come. Thus strife and envying is the atmosphere for confusion and every evil work.

The devil loves where there is strife and envying. You will be shocked that even in churches there is strife and envying among folks and even leaders. Every now and then you will see a brother not getting along with someone; a sister not talking to someone in the choir or ushering department. These are all carnal behaviours that have crept into the church to cause havoc.

1 Corinthians 3:3‭-‬4 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

Apostle Paul told the Corinthian church that they were not spiritual because they were not walking in love. If you walk in love, you will love your leaders in church. Even if you disagree with someone, that does not mean you should be at strife with the person. I love what Pastor Chris said one time: The house of God is not a place for dissenting opinions. We are supposed to be of one mind. This is vital truth.

When satan wants to destroy a family or a church, the first thing he brings is division and strife and confusion; the moment that happens, the Holy Ghost is not able to do much in the church or family.

And since folks have broken the edge through strife, satan steps in and destroys. Many families have been wrecked through strife; churches and organizations have been destroyed through strife.

You can’t afford the luxury of strife. Let us allow the love of God revealed through the cross of Jesus to be the controlling force in our lives, and we will subdue the devil completely. I have made up my mind to forgive people long before they offend me. That’s the way I live; it is the higher life in Christ. I go the way of grace. Love is the greatest walk. Praise God!
