WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR HAND?

2 Kings 4:2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. KJV

Our opening scripture is the story about a widow who was at her wits end – her husband had died leaving debt behind, and the creditors had come to take her two boys as slaves.
When she went to the prophet Elisha for help, the prophet asked her, what do you have in your house? She replied, a pot of oil. And with that oil, the power of God came upon it and resulted into several gallons of oil which brought the widow’s misery to an end.

When God called Moses, He asked him, what is in your hand? Moses answered and said, it is a rod. And with that rod, he did signs and wonders and eventually brought Israel out of 430 years of bondage.

Exodus 4:2‭, ‬17 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.‬‬ KJV

It is what you have that God will use to help you. God will not use anything outside what you already have. If you are looking for God to come from space to help you, you are a big joke. God only works with what you have – He does not work in a vacuum.

None of us are empty. We are all loaded with stuff from heaven. Your potential could be singing, preaching ability, writing, speaking, teaching ability, lawyer, administrator, business etc. There is something that you have that can bring you out of that misery.

You have to take the time to discover what you have – you have potentials inside you. God’s blessing can only come upon what you already have. God’s blessing plus zero equals to zero. It is when the power of God comes upon something that it brings forth the increase.

This is one reason you must get a job or work doing. God cannot bless the lazy hand. God only promised to bless the work of our hands. Don’t look down on what you have. Jesus only used five loaves and two fishes to feed multitudes. Some of you are sitting on oil wells. Little did you ever know that, that skill of yours can bring you plenty success and prosperity. If you don’t have any skill yet, go get a relevant skill and let God bless it to prosper you.
