Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. KJV
Adam was the first man that God made. And he was the first man that disobeyed God. Thus Adam modelled the life of disobedience for the entire human race. His disobedience caused him to lose the glory, thereby plunging the entire human race into darkness and chaos.
Jesus on the other hand, is the last Adam. He came into this world and modelled the life of obedience. Jesus obeyed the Father even unto the death on the cross. And His obedience brought righteousness, life to all men, bringing many sons unto glory.
While Jesus was on His way to the cross, in obedience to the Father’s will, not even Peter could stop Him. When Peter tried to stop Him, He called him satan and rebuked him. Jesus gave up everything to obey the Father.
Abraham also modelled the life of obedience. When God called him to leave his father’s house to an unknown destination, he obeyed and left. On another occasion, God commanded him to offer his only son as a sacrifice. Abraham obeyed God and gave up Isaac. Upon his obedience, God promoted him.
When you were born into this world you were born after the image and likeness of Adam. But the moment you got born again, you were made after the likeness of Jesus, the second Adam, waiting to be made in His image at the resurrection.
You ought to live as Jesus lived while He walked this Earth. You must walk in total obedience to the Father’s will, instructions and commandments. You are a product of Christ’s obedience. Your nature is that of obedience. Walk in obedience to God’s word.
